Lin Peng Award
The Lin Peng Award, named for the late Lin Peng, is given to the member(s) of the chess club who were most influential in keeping the club and the team functional. This award is given at the discretion of the chess club sponsor.

Alex Rozinov Award
The Alex Rozinov Award is given to the strongest player on the team. Anyone who legitimately plays first board more than once in a league season is given this award.

Letters
Letters, at the time of this writing, are not officially awarded by the school. This is probably because nobody has asked in a serious manner for this to be done. Letters are given to all players who participated in at least half of the team's events. Maybe one day the actual sew-on patch letters that are given to varsity athletes will also be given to chess team members. Of course, that still requires that someone ask for them.

Huge Acknowledgement
The club would like to thank Mr. Stan Kubiak for his generous donations to Gunn chess. With the help of Mr. Kubiak, the team has been able to purchase equipment for competitions and general participation. It also has a library of chess books and videos, all donated by Mr. Kubiak.
